Debit Cards

Get the Mastercard® Check Card* from 1st University Credit Union that works like a check — only better! Use our Debit Card to make purchases from your checking account everywhere you see the Mastercard® symbol. Just give the merchant your Debit Card instead of a check or cash to pay for purchases at more than 15 million locations worldwide.

The card is also an ATM card you can use for cash withdrawals and other ATM transactions. And, don't worry, it's not a credit card. Apply for your card when you sign up for your 1st University Checking Account.

How to freeze your debit card

To prevent the unauthorized use of your debit card, follow these steps in the 1st UCU mobile app to freeze and unfreeze your debit card.

Step 1: After logging in, select “Remote Control Cards” from the Menu.

Step 2: Choose your debit card.

Step 3: Click to Disable or Enable.

Download the 1st UCU mobile app in the App Store (iOS devices) or Play Store (Android devices).


Payroll Deduction

When you establish payroll deduction at 1st University Credit Union, money is automatically deducted from your paycheck and deposited in your savings account or checking account, or used to make loan payments. It's an easy way to save or to ensure that you'll never miss a loan payment.

Direct Deposit

It's safe and it's convenient. What could be easier than having your paycheck, or social security check directly deposited into your account? By using Direct Deposit, you avoid unnecessary trips to the credit union just to make a deposit. You also don't have to worry about losing your paycheck or having it stolen.

Overdraft Protection

Avoid the expense and inconvenience of overdrafts with Overdraft Protection from 1st University Credit Union. Overdraft Protection is available on all of our checking accounts using your savings account.

Additional Overdraft Protection is available for member's who qualify. Please contact the Accounting office at (254) 752-2797.
